About the Visual Reflex Test

The visual reflex test measures how quickly you can respond to a visual stimulus — the gold standard for gaming performance. When the circle turns green, your visual cortex fires a signal down to your hand in 150–300ms.

Performance Grades

  • Under 150ms — Exceptional: Pro esports level. Fighter pilot territory.
  • 150–200ms — Excellent: Top 5% of gamers. Ready for competitive play.
  • 200–250ms — Good: Above average. Regular training will get you to Excellent.
  • 250–300ms — Average: Normal human range. Room to improve.
  • Over 300ms — Poor: May indicate fatigue, distraction, or need for more practice.

Why This Matters for Gaming

In CS2, Valorant, and Apex Legends, a 50ms difference in reaction time determines who wins gunfights. Train daily for 10–15 minutes to see measurable improvement.

Related Tests

Compare with the Audio Reflex Test — most people are 20–40ms faster with sound. Also try Reaction Comparison to find your fastest sense.

What This Trains

Stimulus recognition, click timing, decision speed, and recovery after missed or early reactions.

How To Use It Well

Take several attempts instead of trusting one result. Reaction time varies with sleep, caffeine, hardware latency, and focus.

Best For

  • Baseline reaction checks
  • Daily speed tracking
  • Comparing visual, audio, and click response
